Lawyer.
Born at Cote, Saskatchewan in 1921, son of Wasyl Swystun and Olga Swystun (1901-1969), he enlisted in Canadian military forces in 1940 and served overseas with the RCASC. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Staff Captain. He graduated with a law degree from the Manitoba Law School in 1948 then practiced law with his father in the firm of Swystun, Swystun and Company. He was made a Queen's Counsel in 1966.
He was President of the Ukrainian Canadian Legion Branch 141, the Ukrainian Professional and Business Men's Club, and the Settlers Savings and Mortgage Corporation. He received a City of Winnipeg Community Service Award (1963). He died at the Misericordia Hospital on 26 March 1966 and was buried in the Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
