Municipal official.
Born in the Winnipeg's North End on 29 July 1932, the son of Polish immigrants, he graduated from St. John's High School then drove a delivery truck for General Bakeries, where he became heavily involved in the company union. He attended United College for three years but did not graduate. He was active in the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation and later its successor, the New Democratic Party. Known for his aggressive manner, he was ousted from the party in 1984 for supporting a plebiscite on the French language issue.
In 1971, he was elected to the Winnipeg city council, representing the Talbot Ward, and was re-elected in 1974. When the council size was reduced and ward boundaries changed, he ran in the new Ward of Elmwood and was elected four times until being defeated in 1989 by Lillian Thomas. He ran for Mayor in 1979 but was defeated by Bill Norrie. He served on the Historical Buildings Committee (1983) and the Boards of the Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation (1986-1987) and Winnipeg Enterprises Corporation. He and wife Stella Komadowski had four children before separating in 1981.
He died on 4 January 2026.
