Fisheries manager.
Born at Arnes on 6 October 1892, son of Icelandic immigrants Sigurdur Sigurbjornson and Snjolaug Johannesdottir, he joined the Game and Fisheries Branch of the Manitoba government in 1940, leaving the Lake Winnipeg Fish Producers Association where he had been Secretary. He became Supervisor of Fisheries in 1940 and Assistant Director of Game and Fisheries in 1946. When game and fisheries were separated in 1955, he became the first Director of the Fisheries Branch, retiring in 1960 and being succeeded by Burt Kooyman. In retirement, he lived at Vancouver, British Columbia. He and wife Kristbjorg Holmfridur Bopni (1884-1972) had three sons and four daughters. He was an active member of First Lutheran Church. He died at Vancouver, British Columbia on 21 April 1972.
