Educator.
Born at Alexander on 24 July 1898, eldest of four daughters of Jane “Jennie” Armstrong (1863-1951) and George Rusenel (1860-1945), the family moved to Winnipeg around 1915, residing at 601 William Avenue (1916) and 526 Stiles Street (1931), where she attended the Central Normal School.
Her teaching career included service at The Pas School (1919-1920), Pinawa School (1921), Glenboro School (1922-1923), Islay School (1924-1927), Lockport School (1929-1932), Wingham School (1934-1937), Lake Francis School (1938-1941), Sturgeon Creek School (1942-1943), Sundown Village School (1944), Pine Creek School (1944-1945), Sunnyside School “A” (1946), Fraserwood School (1946-1947), Clarkleigh East School (1947-1948, Principal), Hayek School (1948-1949), Framnes School (1949-1950), Moosehorn School (1950-1951), Stockton School (1953-1954), and Wellington School (1954-1955).
In retirement, she moved to Vancouver, British Columbia where she died, unmarried, at the University of British Columbia Hospital on 19 February 1988, with burial locally at the Mountain View Cemetery.
