Memorable Manitobans: Holly Virginia Forster Rattray (1908-1999)Community activist. Born at Beulah in 1908, soon after moving to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba, she met Gordon Wilson Rattray (1909-1982) and married him on 11 June 1932. They had two sons: Alexander Everett Rattray and Donald Rattray. She served as President of the Craft Guild of Manitoba (1948-1950) and was an active member of the Fort Garry Artists Group. She was a founder of the Fort Garry Historical Society and served in various positions between 1971 and 1986, helping to rescue three pioneer homes. She was inducted into the Order of the Buffalo Hunt (1980) in recognition of her community service. She died at Winnipeg on 9 August 1999. Sources:Marriage registration, Manitoba Vital Statistics.
