Memorable Manitobans: William Nowosad (1931-2001)Educator. Born at the family farmstead in what is now the Municipality of Roblin on 9 May 1931, son of Harry Nowosad (?-1968) and Anna Bogusky (?-1944), he attended Merridale School and Roblin High School followed by teacher training. At the age of 16, he began a 30-year teaching career, including service as Principal of Sifton School (1956-1957), Tarno School (1958), and Rorketon School (1966-1967), and teaching at Roblin Collegiate (1962-1963), Gimli Composite High School (1964), Fisher Branch Collegiate (1964-1966), and Ashern High School (1967-1968). He died at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg on 9 May 2001 and was buried in the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery at Merridale.
