Educator.
Son of H. M. Nicholls, he received BA (1948), BEd (1955), and MEd (1969) degrees from the University of Manitoba. He taught at Hapnot Collegiate and was Principal of the Hudson Junior High School at Flin Flon. He spent a year at the Brentford Secondary Modern School at London, England. Coming to Winnipeg, he was Principal of West Kildonan Collegiate (1963-1965) and Garden City Collegiate (1965-1967), and Assistant Superintendent (1967-1969) and Superintendent (1969-?) of the Seven Oaks School Division. He was made a Life Member of the Retired Teachers Association of Manitoba (2017).
On 16 July 1955, he married schoolteacher Neva Yvonne George (1928-2012, daughter of John Albert George) at Deloraine United Church and they had two sons and a daughter. While living in Flin Flon, he volunteered with the Flin Flon Little Theatre, Flin Flon Minor Hockey Association, and Flin Flon Citizenship Committee.
