Police officer, community activist.
Born at Grunthal on 10 August 1948, son of Cornelius Neufeld and Louise Neufeld, his childhood was spent there. As a young adult, he moved to Winnipeg and started a small cartage company. On 10 June 1972, he married Rosana Martens and they had a son and a daughter. In January, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and, after six months of training at Regina, Saskatchewan, his first post was at Swan River. He was transferred to Ashern in 1981 then to Morden in 1988. He was promoted to Corporal in 1996 and put in charge of the detachment at Churchill, then to Sargent at Amaranth in 1999, and finally to Staff Sargent at Shoal Lake in 2022. He retired in April 2010.
In 1983, he became a volunteer at the Manitoba Agricultural Museum where his love of Minneapolis Moline machinery earned him the nickname of “The Minneapolis Man of Manitoba”. He served as its President (?-2007). While at Shoal Lake, he joined the local Lions Club and served as District Governor (2017-2018).
He died at Shoal Lake on 24 October 2023.
