Memorable Manitobans: David Andrew McNamee (1920-2013)

Police officer.

Born at Killarney on 8 December 1920, son of Andy and Allie McNamee, he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force with postings in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Labrador, first as an airframe mechanic during the Second World War and later as an Air Force policeman. After his military discharge, he spent nine years as the Police Chief of Brandon (1970-1979). He then moved to southern Ontario where he served with the Corps of Commissionaires before retiring at Grimsby. He died at Trenton, Ontario on 29 November 2013.
