Educator, municipal official.
Born in Middlesex County, Ontario on 13 November 1866, second oldest in a family of nine children born to WIlliam McIntyre and Catherine King, after completing high school he attended law school at Ann Arbor, Michigan, graduating in 1892. He returned to Canada, graduated from the Normal School in Winnipeg, and taught at Marney School. While teaching there, he married, on 1 January 1896, a former pupil, Clara May McTavish (1876-1941). They had no children. Moving to Strathclair, he tried several occupations, including storekeeper, farmer, and realtor, and served as the Principal of Major School for several years. He was Secretary-Treasurer (1907-1910) and Reeve (1912-1914, 1923-1926, 1935-1937) of the Rural Municipality of Strathclair. He died at Strathclair on 7 December 1950 and was buried in the Strathclair Cemetery.
