Memorable Manitobans: Donald Mann (1853-1934)Entrepreneur, railwayman. Born in Canada West (now Ontario), he became a railway contractor in the West, often in association with William Mackenzie. In 1896 the two men purchased the charter of the Lake Manitoba Railway and Canal Company, and used it as the basis for their Canadian Northern Railway. See also:
