Born in New York City on 10 August 1866, he may have trained as an architect at Chicago. He moved to Canada in 1904 or 1905 to become the Winnipeg branch manager for the Toronto architectural firm of Darling and Pearson. In 1910, he formed a partnership with Walter Percy Over. He served as President of the Manitoba Association of Architects (1917-1918). He left Canada in early 1926 and lived successively at Chicago and Minneapolis, working as an architect at the latter place from 1927 to 1937. By 1938 he was living at Detroit and working as an architect. He died there on 30 July 1939.
