Surveyor.
Born at Leytonshire, Essex, England on 20 March 1891, son of George Davis Hyde, he came to Canada in 1910 and worked as a land surveyor. During the First World War, he served with the 78th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force and was wounded at Vimy Ridge. After his military discharge, he returned to his work and was subsequently a partner in the firm of Walker Bayne and Hyde. He served as President of the Association of Manitoba Land Surveyors (1944). On 25 August 1920, he married Gertrude Elizabeth Puttee (c1897-1990) at Winnipeg and they subsequently had three children: Margaret Francis Hyde (c1925-1968), Robert Hyde, and Kenneth Hyde. He died suddenly at the Misericordia Hospital on 6 December 1985.
