Memorable Manitobans: Henry D. “H. D.” Hildebrand (1927-2015)
Farmer, municipal official.
Born near Gretna on 19 July 1927, he farmed in that area until retirement in 2003 and worked for a time in Tanzania as part of the Canada-Tanzania Wheat Project. He was Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Rhineland (1968-1983) and was the Progressive Conservative candidate in the 1969 provincial general election, being defeated by Jacob Froese. He died at Altona on 11 February 2015.
