College professor.
Born on 22 February 1934, his childhood was spent on the family fruit farm near Vineland, Ontario. After training for a time at a college in Goshen, Indiana, in 1962 he moved to Winnipeg to become a professor at the Canadian Mennonite Bible College (known today as Canadian Mennonite University). He completing a PhD degree at the University of Toronto in 1971 then returned to the College. From 1990 to 1999, he served as General Secretary of the Conference of Mennonites in Canada. In 1957, he married schoolteacher Irma Gladys Epp (1930-2022) and they subsequently had two sons and a daughter. He died at Winnipeg on 7 May 2026.
