Farmer, municipal official.
Born around 1924, son of Edward John Guthrie (1890-1973) and Ethel Mildred Guthrie (1890-1963), during the Second World War he served as a navigator in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After his military discharge, he returned to the family farm and became the third generation to operate it. On 15 September 1944, he married Muriel Irene Kay (?-?) at Reston and they had several children. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 65 years, and a councillor (ten years) and Reeve (1977-1992) for the Rural Municipality of Pipestone. In recognition of his community service, he received a 125th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation Medal (1992). He died at Virden on 28 June 2011.
