Memorable Manitobans: Frederic Theodor Gaspard (?-2008)Businessman. Born in Winnipeg, son of Frederic E. Gaspard and Hadwig Marie Miller (1890-1970), he succeeded his father as President and Chief Executive Officer of the manufacturing firm of Gaspard and Sons with a head office and factory in Winnipeg, and branch offices in Toronto and Minneapolis, and two factories in Puerto Rico. He was a private pilot and for years enjoyed the challenge and sport of flying, joining friends on adventure trips to northern Canada and Alaska. He was a member of the Bakers Dozen and Chaine de Rotisseurs. He was a member of the Lakewood Country Club. He died at Puerto Madryn, Argentina on 15 January 2008 after a brief illness.
