Memorable Manitobans: William Wesley Fleming (1875-1957)Born at Moonica, Minnesota in July 1875, son of Mary Jane Fleming (1842-?), he came to Canada in 1877 and lived at Kenora (Ontario) for some time before moving to Winnipeg around 1893 and working as a building contractor until retirement in 1939. On 12 December 1919, he married schoolteacher Lena Patrick (1877-1955) at Winnipeg and they had a daughter, ? Fleming (wife of L. C. Williams). He was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist. He died in Winnipeg on 2 March 1957 and was buried in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Some of his construction works in Manitoba included:
