Memorable Manitobans: Edna Mae “Deanna” Durbin (1921-2013)
Actor, singer.
Born at Winnipeg on 4 December 1921, she moved with her family to California in 1923, and appeared in a number of musical films during the 1930s and 1940s. She retired from acting in 1949, married the following year, and moved to a farm on the outskirts of Paris, France where she died on 20 April 2013.
