Memorable Manitobans: Vera Isabel Dunn [Sister Joan Mary] (?-1988)Educator. Born at Oxbow, Saskatchewan, she spent most of her life in Winnipeg. In 1927, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, and took her vows in 1934. She taught at St. Mary’s School, St. Ignatius School, Holy Cross School, and St. Mary’s Academy. She was Principal and Superior for several years, and Accountant of St. Mary’s Academy.
