Journalist, author.
Born at La Broquerie on 2 April 1954, the eighth of twelve children of Laurent Dubé and Gertrude Tetrault, he received a degrees in Philosophy and Literature from St. Boniface College and Laval University. He had a varied career, including being a columnist and later editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper La Liberté (1980s and 1990s) where he played an important role in its modernization. His journalism work concluded at Francopresse in 2019.
He worked for the Conseil Jeunesse Provincial (1970s), the Fédération provinciale des comités de parents (1980s), and the Commission nationale des parents francophones (1995-2011). He wrote novels, plays, short stories, and historical essays. His first novel La Grotte (1996) was awarded the Prix littéraire des Caisses populaires. His second novel Ma cousine Germaine (2000) won the Prix Rue-Deschambault.
He had four children with two women, Nicole Brémault and Michelle Smith.
He died at Morbio, Switzerland on 13 May 2026. He was survived by his wife Katia Dalle Fusine.
