Memorable Manitobans: Silvio Jack DiCosimo (1908-1960)
Boxer, restauranteur.
Born in Winnipeg, he boxed professionally as a youth. He later founded DiCosimo’s Chicken Inn in 1942, one of the first fast-food restaurants in the city and an important youth hangout. He was an active Catholic layman.
