Student.
Born at St. Boniface on 25 July 1865, son of Jean Baptiste Desautels dit Lapointe (1830-1909) and Julie Amyot (1827-1906), he worked in northern Manitoba for 20 years and was a cook in a hotel at Los Angeles, California for 20 years before retiring to St. Boniface in 1937.
On 22 July 1890, he married schoolteacher Emilie Michaud (1865-1958) at St. Boniface and they two children: Joseph Desautels and ? Desautels (wife of E. W. Harding). They lived at 315 Hamel Avenue, St. Boniface. He died at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital on 17 July 1952 and was buried in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
