Educator.

Born at Toronto, Ontario on 6 August 1920, daughter of Caroline M. Grotike (1889-1982) and James Ward (1886-1971), her family moved to 28-13-1 East (1926) in the Rural Municipality of Rockwood. She attended Grassmere School and Stonewall School and trained at the Central Normal School in Winnipeg. Her work was interrupted during the Second World War with service in the Women's Royal Naval Service (also known as Wrens) where she was stationed at Halifax, Nova Scotia. Following her return to Balmoral, she married Thomas Aaron “Tom” Croy (1913-2012) in July 1946 and taught at Goodhope School (1947). She had three children and lived on a dairy farm between Balmoral and Stonewall until 1985 when they moved into Stonewall. Returning as teacher (1959-1961) and Principal (1960-1961) at Balmoral School, she later joined the teaching staff of the Manitoba Day School for the Deaf (1963-1966) and Manitoba School for the Deaf (1966-1979), after which she retired.

She died at Stonewall on 26 March 2022.
