Memorable Manitobans: Dorothy Brummitt-Feasby (?-2000)Educator. Born at Eastend, Saskatchewan, she spent her early childhood there and at Yorkton. Her family later moved to Dauphin where she completed elementary and secondary education. Then she attended the University of Manitoba, receiving BA, BEd, and MEd degrees. She taught in the Swan Valley School Division and Dauphin Ochre School Division, serving as Principal of Whitmore School (1959-1966) and Supervisor of Elementary Schools. She joined the Manitoba Department of Education as a school inspector in the northern region and later at Winnipeg. She was later a Language Arts consultant for the Department of Education. In 1989, she received the Dr. John Brown Award from the University of Manitoba in recognition of her service to teacher education. In 1983, she married William Frederick “Fred” Feasby (1916-1998).
