Memorable Manitobans: Ford Bond (1905-1982)

Administrator.

Born at Leeds, Yorkshire, England on 9 August 1905, son of Earl Bond and Carey Peacock, he came to Canada and was General Manager of the Brandon branch of the Plains Western Natural Gas Company. He served on the board of stewards of the First United Church of Brandon. In August 1959, he was appointed the administrative Principal of the Brandon Indian Residential School, holding the position until 1970. He died at Victoria, British Columbia on 26 October 1982, following a lengthy illness. He was survived by a wife and four children.
