Memorable Manitobans: H. R. Bloxam (1897-?)

Editor and Publisher, The News, Beausejour.

Born in the Morden District, 1897. Son of Richard and Eglentyne (Ruth) Bloxam. Married Alice Veronelly. Has two daughters. Family came to Manitoba from Peterboro, Ontario in 1895; settled near Morden. Mr. Bloxam learned the printing trade with the Morden Times; was afterwards with Indian Head News, Dunblane Enterprise, Grenfell Sun. Came to Beausejour, April, 1925; purchased plant from James Wydeman of the Kenora Examiner. Paper covers large territory, good advertising medium, well patronized by local advertisers; since Mr. Bloxam has taken it over the circulation and advertising has greatly increased. This plant also prints Lac du Bonnet Post. Member, Canadian Weekly Newspaper Association. Address, Beausejour.
