Memorable Manitobans: Arni Bjorn Bjornsson (1901-1986)Born at Selkirk on 28 October 1901, son of Birgitta Arnasdottir, he worked as a carpenter. In later years, he was Vice-President and General Manager of North American Buildings Limited, responsible for the construction of many major buildings in Manitoba. He was active in government committees and building industry associations. On 4 September 1928, he married Pearl Margaret Anderson (?-1987) at Selkirk and they had two children: Arnold Bruce Bjornsson (1931-2020, husband of Sally Anne Judt) and Lenore Margaret Bjornsson (?-2008, wife of Philip Gerald Dewan). In retirement he moved to Montreal, Quebec then to Ottawa, Ontario where he died on 26 February 1986. See also:
