Memorable Manitobans: Robert Anderson (1852-1936)Farmer. Born in Ontario on 22 February 1852, son of Thomas Anderson (?-1895) and Margaret Elliott, the family came to Manitoba in 1873 and settled on a farm at Kildonan, where the father served as a councilman. Robert left the family farm at the age of 27 to take up a 160-acre homestead. On 1 January 1880 he married Jemima Appleyard.
