Memorable Manitobans: Solomon Almazoff (1890-?)Editor, radical. Almazoff came to Winnipeg from Russia in 1913. While a student at the University of Manitoba, he became the editor of the radical paper Die Volke Stimme. During the crackdown on radicals during the Winnipeg General Strike, he was arrested 17 June 1919, four days after writing his exams. After his release, he left for the United States, where he worked as a labour organizer in the Minneapolis region for many years.
