Memorable Manitobans: Perry Lynn Allan (c1941-2000)Athlete, referee, plumber. Born at MacGregor around 1941, son of Walter Allan (?-1964) and Hazel Allan, he attended MacGregor School then moved to Winnipeg to attend Kelvin High School so he could pursue a position on the Monarchs hockey team. He worked as a plumber at Portage la Prairie, began teaching plumbing in 1974, and gas fitting at Red River College. He taught referee clinics and refereed tournaments, was a video goal judge with the National Hockey League, and served as Referee-in-Chief with the Manitoba Amateur Hockey Association and as a member of the Standing Rules Committee for the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association.
