Formerly located at the northwest corner of King Street and Flora Avenue in Winnipeg, a one-storey brick and concrete building, measuring 36 feet by 52 feet, was built in 1934, at a cost of about $7,000, as a factory for the Star Kosher Sausage Company.
The building was occupied by the company until late 1939 and it was taken over the following year by the Boston-based United Fruit Company and used as a warehouse. In mid-1954, that was charged with federal monopoly charges and subsequently vacated the building. It then became occupied by the American Corned Beef and Sausage Manufacturing Company (later renamed to the Smiths Corned Beef).
The building was demolished sometime after 1965 and the site is now occupied by a church.
