This monument was erected in 1957, adjacent to the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Blessed Assumption and across the road from the Polish Roman Catholic Church of St. Michael, to commemorate the Ukrainian and Polish immigrants who settled in the Meleb area between 1900 and 1950. Their work resulted in the establishment of three schools, models of which are displayed in nearby Meleb-Park-Cumming Schools Reunion Park.
