Historic Sites of Manitoba: Silberfarb House (753 Magnus Avenue, Winnipeg)

This 1½-storey wood frame dwelling on Magnus Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 24 feet by 38 feet, was designed by local architect Max Zev Blankstein and built between late 1910 and early 1911 by owner Jabob Silberfarb at a cost of about $2,000. Original intended as tenement with the ability to house three families, the building was used as such for approximately three years before becoming a single family dwelling occupied by Silberfarb.
