Historic Sites of Manitoba: Martin School No. 1641 (RM of Grahamdale)

The Martin School District was established formally in October 1912 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at the southeast corner of SE27-27-8W in what later became the Rural Municipality of Grahamdale. The district was dissolved in 1967 and its catchment area became part of the Lakeshore School Division.

Among the teachers of Martin School was Mr. Lechner, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Tesky, H. Nichol, Mr. Giplin, Mr. Dixon, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Stoddard, Mrs. Foster, E. Negrych (1923-1924), J. Heap, Miss Webster, Charles Durnin, Gertie Maisnuk, N. Freeman, Nellie Greenberg, Olive Mills, Laura May Cooke, Mary Leonard, Louis Korody, Mr. Dueck, Mrs. M. Hertzog, Gene Happychuk, George Playter, Miss Janzen, Miss Gorgenson, Miss Kliver, Tina Fleming, Helen Enns, Miss Gerbrandt, Miss Leask, Roy Low, Fernon Genest, and Mrs. Johnson.
