Historic Sites of Manitoba: Lindsay Block (1401 Main Street, Winnipeg)

This one-storey dark red-brown brick building on Main Street in Winnipeg, measuring 25 feet by 50 feet, was built in 1933 by contractor James Alexander Kellas for owner William Lindsay at a cost of about $4,500, for use as Lindsay’s Bakery.

Later occupied by a variety of other businesses, sometime around 2022 the building was renovated from its original appearance in which the original brickwork was covered with metal siding.
