Historic Sites of Manitoba: Imperial Oil Warehouse (960 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg)

This two-storey brick and concrete building on Logan Avenue in Winnipeg was built by the contracting firm of Carter-Halls-Aldinger in 1918 at a cost of about $30,000. It measured 60 feet wide and 187 feet long along its south/longest side and was an oil storage warehouse for The Imperial Oil Company. Spur lines of the Canadian Pacific Railway Pembina Branch were located immediately to the northeast and south of the building, with another Imperial Oil Warehouse situated across the south spur track. A public roadway named Knox Street formerly ran along the building's east flank between Logan and Alexander Avenue, though it has since been closed. The building was later used as a lumber warehouse.

The building was destroyed by fire on 6 August 2023.
