Historic Sites of Manitoba: Hirsh Fourplex B (432 Redwood Avenue, Winnipeg)

This two-storey wood frame building on Redwood Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 22 feet by 44 feet, was designed by local architect Max Zev Blankstein and built in 1911 by owner/contractor Harry Hirsh at a cost of about $3,000. In its original configuration, the building contained four residential apartments with two entrances on the front, one on the side, and one on the rear. Hirsh also built the fourplex next door, at 430 Redwood.

At the time of a 2024 site visit, the building's exterior was extensively modified from its original appearance but was vacant and boarded up.
