Historic Sites of Manitoba: Gill House (80 St. Cross Street, Winnipeg)

This 2½-storey wood frame, brick veneer, and Tyndall stone foundation house on St. Cross Street in Winnipeg, measuring 31 feet by 33 feet, was designed by local architect Edward George Sherwood. It was built in 1909 by day labour for the Diocese of Rupert’s Land at a cost of about $6,000. They gifted it to Reverend Edward Anthony Wharton Gill.

At the time of a 2023 site visit, the brick veneer had been covered with vinyl siding.
