The Eden School District was organized formally in Eden, in the Rural Municipality of Rosedale, in January 1913. Three years later, it joined the burgeoning rural school consolidation movement when it became Eden Consolidated School, consolidating with Acton School No. 155, Hill Head School No. 860, and Seneca School No. 887. In 1917, a two-storey brick school building was erected. It became part of the Beautiful Plains School Division in 1968 and was demolished in 1970. The Eden Collegiate was built in 1963 and operated until 1970 when high school students were bussed to Neepawa. The building was used for elementary classes and renamed J. M. Young School after school trustee James Miller “Jim” Young.
A monument in front of the school building was dedicated on 2 June 1967 in commemoration of Canadian Confederation in 1867.
