This one-storey building theatre building on Main Street in Winnipeg, measuring 50 feet by 100 feet, was built in 1936 by the Dominion Construction Company at a cost of about $9,000. Originally featuring a central entranceway for the theatre with two retail spaces, one on each side, the theatre opened officially on 11 December 1936.
In 1966, the theatre was taken over by the Odean theatre chain and renamed the Hyland Theatre. It reopened officially on 25 August 1966. The theatre closed in 1983 and the building was later became the Beth Jacob Synagogue. At the time of a 2025 site visit, the building was vacant.
