The Boyne View School was opened in September 1958 at the Rose Valley Colony within NW22-6-6W in the Rural Municipality of Dufferin. It operated the balance of that calendar year within the Graysville Consolidated School District No. 1493 and prior to being independently established as the Boyne View School District No. 2368 in January 1959; thereafter operating independently until becoming part of the Midland School Division in January 1968. As part of consolidated in 2001, it became part of the Prairie Rose School Division.

Among the early teachers of Boyne View School were Nellie Stevenson (September-December 1958), Jake Letkeman (January-June 1959 & Fall 1959 - Spring 1960), William Frank “Bill” Derksen (Fall 1960 - Spring 1968).
