This one-storey brown brick and terracotta trimmed, Spanish Colonial Revival-style building was at the northwest corner of Main Street and Lansdowne Avenue in Winnipeg. Measuring 26 feet by 39 feet, it was designed by architect Max Zev Blankstein and built in 1925 by owner/contractor James Henry Berry at a cost of about $4,000. In its original configuration it contained two retail spaces.
Its initial tenants included Chester's Barbershop ran by William Chester, and the Scott Grocery ran by James Scott.
In 1931, a one-storey brick addition also designed by Blankstein and built by Berry, measuring 11 feet by 24 feet was added to the rear of the building at a cost of about $500. Later vacant, the building was demolished in June 2023 to make was for a new multi-storey residential development.
