Historic Sites of Manitoba: Berman House (270 Atlantic Avenue, Winnipeg)

This 2½-storey dark red brick and stucco house on Atlantic Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 27 feet by 29 feet, was designed and built between 1913 and 1914 by contractor William B. Burnman at cost of about $6,000, for owner Isaac I. Berman, proprietor of the Globe Mail Agency.

In 1927, repairs to the house were completed by the Boland Brothers Construction Company at a cost of about $1,500. At the time of a 2025 site visit, the house was relatively unmodified from its original appearance.
