A monument in the Rural Municipality of Elton commemorates the site of Aikenside, that was once situated immediately north of this site. When the railroad came through the area in 1907, the store and post office was moved to Justice. Across the road to the east was Nelles School, that operated from 1892 to 1912. It joined with Young School No. 352 and part of Aikenside School (1884-1911) to form Justice Consolidated School No. 696.
