Linda McDowell

Historian.

Born at Elkhorn, she received her education training and BA degree from Brandon University. She has teaching experience in elementary and high schools in history, in Brandon and Winnipeg. Her research for her paper, Some Women Candidates for the Manitoba Legislature was done in a graduate course in Manitoba history with Professor W. D. Smith. She later taught children’s literature at the Winnipeg Centre Project and developed an elementary school social studies kit for the Morris-Macdonald School Division and a curriculum kit on women’s studies for Manitoba high schools. She was editor of the MHS Transactions, numbers 30 and 31. She is married to David J. McDowell.
