In 1946, a group of prominent Jewish businessmen and community leaders decided to establish a golf and country club because no other private clubs were open to them. Members of the group included Percy Genser, Benjamin Jacob, Hyman Norman Bernstein, Samuel Sair, Leon Brown, Nathan Jacob, Max Freed, Morris Neaman, and Alex W. Mitchell.
The group hired lawyer Solomon Hart Green and raised funds to purchase the public Royaumont Golf Course along the Assiniboine River in the RM of Assiniboia.
A new clubhouse, designed by the Winnipeg architectural firm of Green Blankstein Russell, opened in 1951.
