This organization was established around 1971. Its objective was to advance museum services in Manitoba by 1) promoting the protection and preservation of objects, specimens, records, and sites significant to the natural and human history of Manitoba; 2) aiding in the improvement of museums as educational institutions; 3) acting as a clearinghouse for information of special interest to museums; 4) promoting the exchange of exhibition material and the arrangement of exhibitions; 5) co-operating with other associations with similar aims, and by such other methods as may from time to time be deemed appropriate.
