This Winnipeg-based law firm is believed to be the oldest one in Manitoba, tracing its origins to 1871 with David Marr Walker.
On 1 March 1971, the firm of Swift Macleod Deacon and Kirby merged with that of D'Arcy Irving Haig and Smethurst to form D’Arcy and Deacon, named for Norman Joyce D’Arcy and Ivan James Rochester Deacon.
