Historic Sites of Manitoba: West Kildonan Curling Rink (210 Enniskillen Avenue, Winnipeg)

This two-storey wood frame and stucco building on Enniskillen Avenue in West Kildonan (now part of Winnipeg), originally measuring 44 feet wide by 178 feet long and 32 feet high, was built in 1938 of British Columbia fir by contractor John Cameron at a cost of about $5,000. It served as a three-sheet curling rink for the West Kildonan Curling Club founded in 1919. It officially opened in December 1938.

Expanded to five sheets of ice in 1952, the rink was closed in 2017 due to a lack of club members. The building was converted into a roller skating rink.
